TASKFORCE

If you don't know what time you can commit, but may be able to help once, or once in a while, or don't really fancy joining an established project, sign up for our weekly e-mail bulletin. You will then receive a weekly list of requests for help, plus news of any SCA training or events. No one will hassle you, all you do is read it and reply only if you want any further info on anything mentioned.

Some of the things past Taskforce volunteers have done:

  • helped a lady wheelchair user to do her weekly supermarket shopping
  • written letters and Christmas cards for a partly paralysed lady
  • helped an elderly blind gent visit his old College occasionally
  • walked dogs for elderly, disabled and sick people
  • accompanied a wheelchair user to the pub, shops and the park
  • planted and looked after window boxes and tubs for a disabled lady
  • visited the Botanical Gardens with wheelchair users
  • provided keyboard accompaniment for a carol service
  • acted as stewards and collectors on Bonfire Night on Midsummer Common
  • helped with chemistry homework
  • read aloud to people
  • and lots more
